Drinking coffee is no longer just to fix your cravings for caffeine. Instead, it has become a part of lifestyle. The coffee trend is an ever-changing space. For instance, the taste for coffee among today’s consumers have changed too.

“In recent years, specialty coffee has been rising among the population. Hence, we keep innovating new coffee experiences in order to cater to the consumer market.”
Founder of 2F+ Coffee Roastery, Mr Wong
2F+ Coffee Roastery was established 9 years ago. It was started as an interior design studio which was located at the 2nd floor of a shoplot. As a coffee enthusiast and also an interior designer, Mr Wong started to make his own coffee at his studio for his friends and clients. Gradually, more equipment and types of coffee beans were added into his collection. As a result, a cafe was born.

2F+ Coffee Roastery was relocated from the studio to its current location three years after Mr Wong officially started his coffee business. “2F” means 2nd floor while “+” means the continuation of the cafe.
The Interior

The cafe is tucked in a vintage wooden house. Its signboard is almost covered with creepers and thus, first-timers are most likely to overlook the place. There are many green plants surrounding the entrance and it feels like entering a secret garden. Besides, the use of glass allows penetration of natural light to create a bright interior without heating up the place. Furthermore, the ambience is very cozy with lots of reading materials on the racks. In addition, the furnitures are made from press steel and wood which make the environment look more contemporary. It is a great place for chilling, studying and chit-chatting.

The Menu
For food, the menu covers Western delights, Home-cook delights, waffles and even desserts. Some of their bestsellers include The Egg (poach egg + bacon + cheese + vege + salad), Red Sauce Spaghetti (home cook red sauce + mushroom + chicken), Chicken Charcoal Burger (charcoal bun + fried chicken + vege), and Rainbow Love (mix fruits + caramelised apple sauce + almond flake + ice cream).

According to Mr Wong, his wife and sister-in-law are the ones in charge of the kitchen. With the addition of the Chinese cooking elements, the taste of food is more favourable and acceptable by locals. In other words, they use the concept and ideas of preparing Chinese cuisine to cook Western delights. Nevertheless, the price range between RM7.00 to RM21.90 is very reasonable as the serving portion is very filling.
