As a coffee enthusiast, Cindy used to do cafe hopping every week. With the passion about coffee, she started learning how to make coffee and worked as a barista. By having prior experience in the food and beverage industry for 2 years, Cindy decided to achieve her dream – own a cafe.
BeĀngels Specialty Coffee was established on 1st April 2016. BeĀngels, be caffeinated. Looking at the name itself, you could find out the word “bean” which represents coffee bean, and the word “angels” represent soul. Putting these two words together, BeĀngels means the soul of the coffee beans.
“We’re passionate about what we’re doing. For instance, BeĀngels emphasizes product and service quality. Hence, we always put ourselves in others’ shoes and treat our customers like how we want to be treated.”Co-founder of BeĀngels Specialty Coffee, Cindy Lim
BeĀngels Specialty Coffee is tucked at the ground floor of Island Plaza. The interior is mainly black with touches of green. Moreover, the black wall and ceiling make the cafe look more vibrant. Besides, the touch of green is very relaxing and comforting. It is an excellent choice for establishments that serve healthy and natural food, for example salad, which is available in their menu.
Furthermore, the use of wooden furniture and chalkboard menus show their emphasis on authenticity. Last but not least, the combination of ambient lighting and natural lighting provides a cozy ambience. In short, the spacious seatings and overall decor create an unconsciously positive mood and stimulates the appetite.
BeĀngels Specialty Coffee is best known for their coffee and breakfast. Besides, they also serve sandwiches, angel hair, salad, soup and cakes. For instance, their signatures include Big Breakfast (canned tomato red beans, fluffy scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, crispy hash browns, mushroom and bread), Hulk Angel (Thai green curry paste with angel hair) and Pandan Sangkaya (well-toasted bread, traditional Thai coconut pandan custard dip).
One of the best cakes is Almond Tiramisu. Besides coffee, their most popular beverages are Rosé and Doicetto. The price range between RM8.50 to RM26.50 is considered reasonable as the serving portion is filling.
